The Grammy winning sales bump

Media_httpflowingdata_armfc

A Grammy win is worth way more than a little trophy and some short-lived fame. It's worth actual cash. As shown in this graphic by Wilson Andrews and Mike McPhate for the Washington Post, album sales two weeks after winning shoot up from two weeks before the awards show.

Last year, album sales only went up 56 percent for the Taylor Swift album Fearless, compared to a plus 891 percent bump for the 2009 winners, Alison Kraus and Robert Plant. However, considering the relative obscurity of this year's winner, Arcade Fire, I suspect a bump more like the latter.

Interactive CD Cover

Hubero Kororo designed this interactive CD cover for the band Uceroz. When you open the CD packaging on the side, ink is set free and bleeds into the cover of the CD. I really like this idea.

Ray Tintori's latest for MGMT

Kids by MGMT, directed by Ray Tintori

Ray Tintori, the director behind the psychedelic promo that launched MGMT into the pop limelight, has shot this latest vid for the band's new single Kids. The film offers a frightening insight into how the world might seem through the eyes of a child... before suddenly, halfway through, switching from lo-fi live action to animation. We're not quite sure how coherently all this hangs together, but it all makes for good eye candy, as do the band's super silver outfits.
